The Party Chairman of All Progressives  Congress (APC) in Apapa Local Government, Alhaji Fatayi Sanni, in a chat with the APC Watch  on Tuesday confirmed that, Thirteen (13) Chairmanship Aspirants from the LGA, have properly obtained their nomination forms to contest the Primary election slated for 20th May 2017, as stated in the Party Guidelines released of the Lagos State council of the party recently, .

 

According to him, he has endorsed the portion of the Party nomination forms that requires his endorsement, in his capacity as the LGA Chairman of the Party, as contained in the forms for all the 3 ladies and 17gentlemen in the race.

 

The three ladies in the contest are Mrs. Cicila Bolaji Dada, the immediate past Executive Secretary and local government Secretary in the two term administrations of  Senator Muniru A Muse, as well as the Deputy Chairman in the two tenures of Hon. Ayodeji Joseph.

Alhaja Aminat  Adebisi Musa, a daughter of one of the leaders of, the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), in the Lagos Mainland, Pa S A Desouza, is another of the three ladies eyeing the party ticket in the LGA.

An indigenes of the bother town of Lagos State Badagry, born and bred in Ebute-Meta, like most people of Badagry, in the first dispensation of this republic, she was a member of  PDP, but operating in Apapa., where she was a women leader.

She in i2000 defected to the  Alliance for Democracy (AD), which was then most popular in the South west of Nigeria and from there to the present APC.

Aminat who used to be a Christian but, her marriage to Engineer Danlami Musa of the Nigerian Port Authority, turned to Muslim, had earlier contested for same ticket in 2011, but not lucky enough to get it.

 

 The Supervisor for Works in the second term administration of Alhaji Muniru Muse, Prince Hakeem Ojora, who was said to be the choice of Muse as his successor, but was doused by the Abrackdabra that led to the emergence of Hon. Ayodeji Joseph, as then chairman of the local government council, is very much the race.

He is being rumored to be having a strong external support to clinch the the Golden ticket that would make him serve the Golden local government.

Also had obtained his form, was the gentleman whom one of his supporters described as "The is the man to beat" Mr. Adele Elijah Owolabi (aka NFA) who is being rumored to be enjoying the support of the last Chairman of the local government council, Hon.Ayodeji Joseph, who is now a member of the Federal House of Representatives, who he served as Council Secretary.

 

Another aspirant who has collected his form and making waives in the contest, is a son of Chief Ola Egbayelo, a Councillor of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in the old Apapa Local Government, which was headed by late Hon. Funsho Adetiba, 

created by the Alhaji Lateef Jakande administration Administration of the Second Republic, Mike Oladunjoye Egbayelo.

 

Mike, is a Journalist of high repute, who have won many laurels in the profession, he is also an astute politician, with a massive grass root following, who in his quest to serve the LGA effectively, has commissioned a group of experts, headed by Dr Ayotunde Adebayo of the Department of Arts and Social Science Education of the University of Lagos, to prepare a blue print to be used in his local government administration, titled “The Mission to Restore Apapa's lost glory”

 

One of the leading aspirants, who has picked he's, was Prince Ganiyu Lekan Bakare, a Businesses Administrator and Information Technologist by training, who is leaving no stone unturned to win the ticket, is working  and strategizing seriously to secure the Apapa Local Government, APC Chairmanship ticket.

Lakan, a son of Chief Karim Bakare, the former Supervisory Councilor and Chairman Works Committee, in the old Eti-Osa Local Government, that use to have Apapa GRA as a ward, from where he was elected during the administration of Omo -Oba Murphy Adetoro, as Council Chairman, when they were all elected on the platform of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 1991.

 

Amongst the first set of those who picked their's was, Hon. Muftau Egberongbe, a former Education Secretary of the Apapa Local Government and immediate past Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who represented the Apapa Constituency 1, 

Now the Chief of Staff in office of the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly (Hon.Mudashiru Obasa), he is one of the leading aspirants running to clinch the ticket. As one, who have contested twice in the local government and very familiar with the terrain, one of his supporters therefore said, "Egbe shall prove that, is by all means, not a push over in the contest and will spring a surprise, as experience counts"

A major contender for the ticket, who also has done the needful, is the light complexioned Kelvin Oluwaseun Gabriel,  a gentlemanwho believe in the position of the great Philosopher, Pluto, who said “The price good men pay for not partaking in politics, is to be governed by men inferior to themselves” has therefore volunteered to be a catalyst of Change in Apapa, has also 

He, like Egbayelo, is also having in place a blueprint, that would guide his running of his proposed government, which includes the provision of Independent Power Project (IPP) for Apapa Local Government.

An expert in financial management, Hon. Babalola Bankole Mogaji, who was part of the immediate past Care Taker Committee of the local council, is no kidding about the contest, hence, had collected his and busy dotting the I's and crossing d T's that would win the ticker for him.

BBM, who obtained Masters in both Financial Management and Business Administration, who is has promised to put his experience in financial management and business administration in to bear in running the Apapa Local Government Council, if he eventually won the elections. 

 

 

Others who have also collected their forms were, Mrs. Kofoworola Francis Uriri, the third lady in the contest, Alhaji Morufu Ishaq, Chief Rotimi Olagoriade and Mr Monday Isimah. They have all been busy campaigning.
