Rumor began to making round, that the leadership of the Party is considering the option of standing firmly by its position at the composition of the committees, that all those who were appointed as Heads of the Caretaker Committees, tagged 'Executive Secretaries'  shall not be eligible to partake in the elections.

If the rumor turned out to be true, that means, all the former Executive Secretaries aspiring to come back as Council Chairmen and who are amongst the leading aspirants in their constituencies, may be disqualified from the race.

Another rumor that is flying high amongst the party members, is the feasibility of the much talked about, blanket approval of the Party Leadership to allow 18 former Council Chairmen in the last dispensation, in some of the LGAs and LCDAs to have easy return to their offices.

A top party official who spoke with APC Watch at the Party's Secretariat, Ikeja yesterday, who wishes to remain anonymous said "Am not aware of these two things, but the issue of some former Chairmen wanting to serve for second term is normal, but our party can not impose a candidate on the people, it is the constitutional right of all Nigerians to have a second term of any executive office, subject to the wish and approval of the people such aspirants in tend to serve and it is the same thing at both the party and government levels"
