Tobun Donates 200 WAEC/GCE Form To     Students Of Epe Constituency 1

      The Chairman, Lagos State House Assembly's Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, on Monday distributed 130 WAEC / General Certificate Education (GCE) registration PIN to about 130 out of 200 indigent students which he targeted in the N2 million worth projects.

As part of his plans to impact positively on the educational career of the youth in Epe Constituency I, Hon.Tobun has done this with intention to transform youth in the constituency to be able to compete fairly well with their counterparts in other parts of Nigeria by having sound education and to be more productive, so that they would move their communities to the next level in life.

According to Hon.Tobun, who represents the constituency at the Lagos State House Assembly, the distribution of GCE registration PINs, is a follow up to the distribution of JAMB forms to same number of indigent students in the constituency,a couple months earlier.

 

 

Explaining further on that he said “But we later discovered that some of them did not have complete O’ level results and some students also approached me, and said that they needed GCE forms.

“So, I felt that this was a way to let the youth grow. With this, they would be able to help their parents when they eventually graduate.

 

“The knowledge that we acquired is what is helping us today. So we will continue to do more to impact on the youth.

 

He also said in his address at the historic occasion that, by next week, another batch of 70 other beneficiaries, who, due to logistic problems, their WAEC/GCE registration PINs, were not available at the ceremony, are also expected to receive theirs.

Later, while chatting with the press, the APC Legislature, could not hide his happiness over his ability to plan and execute the project which was one of his Constituency Projects, especially when ceremony  was graced by party chieftains, political aspirants, spiritual and royal fathers from the nooks and crannies of Lagos East Senatorial District of State.

Hon..Tobun stated that the beneficiaries were chosen on merit and he did not know anyone of them personally and the idea was mooted as a way to complement Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode’s programme on education for youths.

 

In his welcome address, the Sole Administrator of Epe Local Government, Mr Olowo Ogunniyi,  earlier expressed his satisfaction with the gesture of the lawmaker, whom he described as  a true representative of the people.

The youth in the constituency who are beneficiaries of the project, were full of praises to God and approaches Hon. Tobun for initiative which has brought great relieve to the parents  of the indigent students, who ordinarily found it so difficult to afford the N13,950 cost of 2017/2018 WAEC GCE Registration scratch card/PIN .
