Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Acting President on Thursday 6th July, 2017 in Kaduna, revealed that, the magnitude of confidence reposed in Mr Ibrahim Magu, made the presidency to retain him as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and nobody can remove him.

 “We have every confidence in Magu to fight corruption to a standstill. He would remain the EFCC chairman as long as I remain the acting President and as well as Muhammadu Buhari remains the President, he said

“It is our belief that Magu would continue to remain a nightmare for corrupt people for years to come" the Acting President said through Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai who represented him at the commissioning ceremony of the EFCC zonal office in the state.

The Vice-President maintained in his message that, decision to retain the EFCC boss, was jointly taken by his principal and him, as he held talks with President Muhammadu Buhari on the matter and the President insisted that Magu should continue to head EFCC.

The Kaduna State Governor further revealed in his welcome address that, without noise making, he had recovered over N500 million from some contractors and corrupt past government officials.

He, however, added that those corrupt officials will be handed over to the EFCC in due course for prosecution. He also said that, his administration's zero tolerance for corruption was responsible for the establishment of the EFCC zonal office in the state

At the commissioning ceremony, the controversial head of EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu  implored the judiciary arm of government to accelerate the establishment of a Prison yard in Sambisa Forest, as a strategy to combat corruption.
