As earlier as 10am on Tuesday, 4th July 2017, the Dawaki Road, Kano metropolis, residence of late Danmasanin Kano,  Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, where former Vice Chancellor of Ado Bayero University Kano, Professor Dan Datti Abdulkadir, had been receiving condolence, with marmot crowd of family members and other mourners, especially women, were seen broken into tears, long before the corpse of the late diplomat arrived around 4:30pm.

It was in deed a great task for the security agents, to pave way for the ambulance that conveyed the remains of the former Federal Minister, to access his residence, on arrival from the Aminu Kano Airport.

When the  corpse of the late Nigeria's former Permanent Representative at the United Nation, arrived Kano, in an Air force plane NAF 913 from Abuja at exactly 4:05pm it was received by the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Abba Kyari, who led a federal government delegation that included Interior Minister Abdulrahman Danbazau, Defence Minister Mansur Dan Ali, Solid Minerals Development Minister Kayode Fayemi, Water Resources Minister Sulaiman Adamu, Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika and Accountant-General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris,

The late elder statesman, who until his death on Monday 3rd July, 2017, in a hospital in Cairo, Egypt after a few days illness, was after the Islamic prayer held at the Kofar Kudu of the Kano Emir’s palace, buried at the Dan Dolo cemetery in the Kano metropolis, amidst tears on the faces of family members, relations and associates after a funeral prayer.

Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen, the Chief Imam of Kano, presided over the Islamic prayer on the corpse at the Kofar Kudu of the Kano Emir’s palace, which was attended by the Sarkin Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, several Thousands of mourners, including top government functionaries, business moguls, traditional rulers, religious leaders, as well as family members, relations and associates.

The Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje led Governors Muhammad Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Muhammad Abubakar (Bauchi) to the funeral ceremonies.

Amongst other prominent personages present at the funeral were, a former Kano State governor, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, Senator Barau I. Jibril, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Alhaji  Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal and Samaila Isa Funtua,

Other Northern elders present were Galadiman Katsina and District Head of Malumfashi, Justice Mamman Nasir and Prof. Ango Abdullahi.
